Blog Tour: Out of Time by Jen McLaughlin; Review + Giveaway

It's time for my stop on the tour for Out of Time by Jen McLaughlin!

Out of Time (Out of Line #2)
Author: Jen McLaughlin
Release Date: 1 December 2013

Desperate to keep him...

I've finally gotten everything I ever wanted: love, freedom, happiness, and, most importantly, Finn. Our love is everything I expected it to be and more. We've finally found each other, but the world seems determined to tear us apart. We thought my father was the only obstacle between us, but now it's the military. With Finn’s departure looming, we’re squeezing in every moment together before we run out of time.

Trying to make every moment count…

Being Carrie’s bodyguard was one thing. Being her boyfriend is another. Every day she’s mine is a day the sun shines in my life. Yet our time together is running out. Her father will never think a tattooed Marine will be good enough, so I’ll do whatever it takes to be worthy of her love. But the road will take me away from the girl who makes me feel alive--the girl I can't live without.

Time only gets us so far...

To celebrate the release of Out of Time, book 1 in the series, Out of Line, will be just .99¢.

After reading Out of Line, I was eagerly anticipating the continuation of Carrie and Finn's story. Especially after that little cliffhanger at the end!

Finn only got better and better for me. He's so darn sweet and protective of Carrie, but he also gives her the freedom she desperately needs. He has insecurities about his relationship with Carrie, focusing on how he feels that he's not good enough for Carrie and her politically ambitious father. My heart hurt for Finn, because of course, he can't see how perfect he is!
Carrie is very sweet and likable, she's so easy to relate to. I loved how much she loves Finn as well. She doesn't want him to change, and she shows him that she loves him as he is. I also like how down to earth Carrie is, despite her rather privileged upbringing.

I loved how much growth there was in Carrie and Finn's relationship, it develops into something so much deeper and more intimate. Not to mention, very passionate! They have such a great chemistry, that it jumps out of the page to you.

I enjoy being able to switch between Carrie and Finn's POV. You get a much better understanding of how each character feels and I especially like being able to see their feelings towards each other.
Out of Line is a great addition in this series, and I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hand on book 3- especially after that cliffhanger! I'm nervous and excited to see how Finn and Carrie will deal with certain events. This is an emotional and tense read, but it's oh so worth it.

*I received a review copy for my honest review. Thank you!
