Book Review: Unscrupulous by Avery Aster

Unscrupulous
Author: Avery Aster
Publisher: Ellora's Cave
Publication Date: 14 August 2013

At thirty-three Warner Truman is one of the richest men on the planet, a spa mogul who buys and sells resorts at will. He holds powerful executive’s careers in his well-groomed hands. Nothing is beyond Warner’s reach…until he meets her.

Stunning, tantalizing, and perverse, Taddy Brill captivates Warner’s carnal desire like no woman he’s ever met. A self-made millionaire, Taddy is tougher than steel, more brilliant than diamonds and, at twenty-seven, she’s never depended on a man for anything…until she meets him.

The more Taddy plays with Warner’s affections, driving him to erotic heights, the more she is confronted by a dark past. But before she can love him, Taddy must meet her worst fears head-on or risk losing it all, including herself.

My Review

Where can I find a Warner Truman? Seriously! He was just so darned swoony. He knows what it's like to be in a loving and satisfying relationship, but he's also been hurt by his ex-fiance- who is pretty much 100% drama and psycho.  He's incredibly rich, but he's a self-made man and very grounded. He's also a total gentleman and very determined- which he's going to have to be to break through Taddy's walls!

Taddy Brill is a fabulous, successful and powerful woman. She's the CEO of Brill, Inc, one of the most sought after PR firms in New York, and she's built it all from scratch. She's ruthless and determined, but her friends are her family and she's unfailingly loyal to them. Taddy had me laughing frequently, but she hides a painful family past under her layers of sheer awesome.

Warner and Taddy are a perfect match. They match each other's determination, and they have their successful careers in common. They also have a smoking hot connection that instantly lights a fire between them. Seriously, like whoah! Warner is Taddy's Big Daddy and she's his Red. I loved them, especially because Warner doesn't let her pull away from him, and he has the strength to show Taddy what could be between them.

It's not just Warner and Taddy that you love, there's so many characters with their own very unique personalities- the innocent Kiki, Lex, Vive and Blake...to name a few.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with Unscrupulous, it was exactly the break I needed from some of the angstier books I've been reading and I loved it. There is a plethora of fabulousness in this witty and sexy book that had me laughing out loud repeatedly. I'm so looking forward to reading Lex's story in Undressed (book 1 in the Manhattanites series)!

*I received a review copy from the publisher, via NetGalley, for my honest review. Thank you!
